Warm even though

a glowing ember 

ready to consume

any that steps into its surroundings.

Holding fast,

rigid,

cold and defiant,

standing ground,

ice against

the devastation of fire.

Good running shoes prevent injuries,

Anti-aging creams will prevent old ugliness,

Chia seeds will help improve longevity,

start again,

 frustration,

no, not compatible,

Doubtful Talent

And while the talented are restrained

and wondering,

hand-wringing with doubt
